Tithi, nakshatra, yoga & karana are derived from the actual angular elongation, and their transition (“upto”) instants solved to ~30-second precision. Amanta (South Indian) masa reckoning. Festival rules from Vishnu Purana, Bhagavata Purana, Surya Siddhanta. NOAA SPA for sunrise/sunset and astronomy-engine ephemeris for moonrise/moonset when location is set.
Accuracy:Angas (tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana) and their transition times normally agree with the temple Drik panchang within a few minutes at the same location. Small differences can arise from ayanamsa choice, longitude and sunrise convention. Sunrise/sunset accurate to ±1–2 min. For ritually-precise muhurtas, consult your family priest’s panchang at the temple longitude.
