Trust and safety
You are sending money to an institution you may never have visited, for a ritual you will not watch. Everything below exists so that decision is a reasonable one, and so is the institution’s decision to list with us.
Every institution is verified before it is listed
- The institution’s PAN is checked against MCA records.
- The bank account is validated by a penny-drop through our payment partner, so money can only reach an account that exists in the institution’s name.
- A signed board resolution or power of attorney naming the person who registered is a required document.
- Registration documents are reviewed by a person, not only by a script, before anything goes live.
Money moves on a rail you can inspect
- Payments are collected through an RBI-authorised payment gateway. Full card data is never stored by SevaCart.
- The seva or contribution amount belongs to the institution and is never SevaCart revenue.
- The platform fee is a single published line, shown before you pay, and set out in full on the pricing page.
- Dakshina is optional and goes 100% to the officiating priest.
Offerings are recorded in public
- Every completed offering is written to the public ledger, with the institution named.
- Partner institutions upload photographic proof against completed sevas.
- We publish real counts only. Where we have no numbers yet, we say so rather than printing vanity metrics.
Your data is handled under the DPDP Act
- Analytics fire only after you grant consent. Decline and nothing leaves your browser.
- You can export or delete your account data from your profile.
- Staff consoles require multi-factor authentication. Devotee, priest, partner and trustee sign-in does not.
- The privacy policy sets out what is collected, why, how long it is kept, and who it is shared with.
No dark patterns
- No fake reviews, no invented ratings, no fabricated social proof.
- No countdown timers or scarcity messaging. A genuinely time-bound seva shows a calm "closes in N days" note and nothing more.
- No pre-ticked consent boxes, and no charge that was not shown to you before payment.
- Cancellation windows are published on the seva card and again at checkout.

Questions people ask
How do I know a temple listed here is real?
Every partner institution completes KYC before a single listing goes live: PAN checked against MCA records, bank account validated by penny-drop, and a signed board resolution or power of attorney on file. Completed offerings then appear on the public ledger with the institution named.
Does SevaCart hold my money?
No. Payments are collected through an RBI-authorised payment gateway and reach the institution’s verified bank account once the gateway releases the funds. The seva amount is never SevaCart revenue; we keep only the published platform fee.
What happens if a seva is not performed?
Write to us from the contact page with your order reference. SevaCart acts as a facilitator: we take it up with the institution and, where the seva was not performed, arrange the refund under the refund policy.
How do I report a listing or an institution?
Use the contact page, or write to the Grievance Officer directly. Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and redressed within 15 days.
Is my card stored on SevaCart?
No. Full card data is never stored by SevaCart. Payment details are handled by the RBI-authorised payment gateway.
